Latest report on International State of Quantum Information Technologies Research focuses on North America, Asia and Australia

The Quantum Computing and Simulation Hub has released the second part of its International State of Quantum Information Technologies Research report. This report provides an overview of quantum computing research across North America, Asia, Russia and Australia. The report provides a detailed analysis of the activities taking place on a country-by-country basis, presenting a comprehensive picture of current activity.

There are now a large number of partnerships, agreements, and memorandums of understanding established between governments, academic institutions, and corporations across borders, focussed on advancing quantum information science and technologies. This report looks at the significant national quantum initiatives and provides data on how countries are investing substantially in these technologies.

Part I of the report was published last year, and focussed on European activities.  Together the documents provide a picture of the impressive global momentum in the progression of quantum computing, through both national strategic efforts and teamwork between leading countries worldwide. It points to the potential for quantum technologies to deliver transformative capabilities, especially when pursued cooperatively across the international scientific community.
